[I've grown tomatoes casually before but this is the first year I really have a clue what I am doing. I have learned a lot from you folks by lurking here the past few months.]

I started seven varieties from seed and planted out two of each in late May (near-coastal Connecticut, zone 7a, usually more than enough rain and humidity). Overall they are doing great, I think. The 7th variety was a freebie from Tomato Growers Supply: Red Rose (Brandywine x Rutgers) "disease and crack resistance are inherited from Rutgers...."

Two weeks ago all others had plenty of fruit coming; Red Rose had very robust stems and foliage but seemed very slow to set fruit. I have been dealing with some Alternaria and Septoria on certain plants but RR looked unconcerned. Then we started seeing some growing fruit on RR. This week we had a few days of heat (90-ish, maximally humid), then an evening with an abrupt shift to chilly wind, with overnight low in the 50s. Now RR has scattered yellowing leaves up and down, without obvious fungal lesions on them. Buds on the top of the plant are yellowed, too. The plant on the corner of the garden is the one that is most obviously unhappy; its sibling in a slightly more protected position has some yellow foliage but less severe.

Could it be sulking because of the crazy weather shifts?

If I thought it was something contagious I would pull it right out but, of course, I'd rather keep it now that it is actually bearing some fruit.
