i would NEVER fert a new transplant.. .you did twice ... you may have burned the roots of the transplant

What's more, Royal Poinciana, AKA Delonix regia (this is what you have, right?) is a member of the Fabaceae, a big long word meaning it's related to beans, clover, and other legumes, many of which typically are able to provide for their own nitrogen needs, via mutualistic associations with certain soil bacteria. To add still more N to their environs is at best wasteful, at worst counterproductive. I agree-this could be straight-up fertilizer burn.

Yes, stop trying to LOVE it to death. They are not fuzzy plants/trees. They even do well as containerized plants in the North. Also, keep in mind that although they grow in tropical and subtropical regions (including S. Florida), they are naturally at least semi-deciduous. They will shed most of their canopy in the dry season (its 'winter'). When it drops its leaves, keep it very, very dry. Increasing watering in March when it will start budding new leaves again.

Mine is doing this same thing I think it may have been over fertilized or over watered it is summer it grew so big an pretty Durring the winter I planted it in November- December and now all of it's leaves including the new leaves are dying it is maybe 7-8 months old I really wish I know what was wrong with it and how to help it
