We have spent 2 years renovating a cottage at a mountain lake. We have a lot of cedar and I am thinking of doing a focal wall with cedar planks. Everything is about the views form large windows we have put in. I have a half walls of white washed plank pine intended for the rest of the walls - will this look just horrid? How to bring this room together has driven me crazy- the walls are not perfect, things are not level- so as we have worked through the process I have tried to use elements that don't show any of the issues of an old place. I do not want a cabin feel to it -I want a trued cottage feel. Any guidance is appeciated

That is the wall I am thinking of for cedar and to the right would be the white washed plank so there is a door between the two teatments
It is one main room where are all the gathering and living happens. Under the cabinet by the blue chair will be a white wash plan also- behind the TV is a grasscloth very neutral in color with spec of gray
The grasscloth will go around the corner to the entrance way. Kitchen still has subway tile going also and floors with be a tobacco barn color...very warm hues. The room gets a lot of light all day long with all the windows on the lake side.
