Brand New To SFG
Hi Everyone,
As the title suggests I am new to square foot gardening... well gardening in general really. This year I tried doing tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and peppers. All my peppers died :( but I am starting to get fruit on everything else.
I have a HUGE garden, unfortunately the only spot where there is sun for 8+ hours a day is 3ftx18ft, so hence why I am here. I am planning for next year and would like tips and advice on how to get started and what you would recommend for a family of 5.
I have also noticed on some seeds it states to plant outdoors before the last frost, there is still a lot of snow here even though the weather is warming up, do I just dig out the snow to plant or wait until it's fully melted? Or is there something that can keep the plot snow free-ish?
Also how much manure would be needed for the plot and do you have any recommendations for trellises, fertilizers etc?
