Stain or Not to Stain

My old white round column was in bad shape, so I had to do something fast to support the weight. This morning they put in a cypress square column. I love it. However, I need your opinion as to whether I should stain it to match the door.
Yes- Stain to match door
No- Leave it as it is
No- Don't stain - paint to match trim
