So first off, I thought my tiger eye bean was kind of weird.. a lot of more bush bean action than pole bean.. the a few plants shot up into pole bean action.. At the time I wondered about this and posted about it, but was told some semi-bush and almost half runner was normal.

Now other normal is wondering about the pods... for a week or two now, I've had the earliest beans set up and dry out for picking.. while later pods on the same plant are still blooming and setting pods or have early pod stage. A couple of my bushiest plants are already done for the season and have been pulled. Is it normal for tiger eye to hit dry stage early on the base of the plant, and continue to run on from there? Some of my plants are still only 18 inches tall, others have hit the 5-6 foot mark with runners.. and all of them are drying out early and keep sending on "young action" up the plant.

And then there are the bean seeds themselves.. I shuck them, and about 80-90% of the time I get the nice caramel with burgundy striping noted with the bean.. but then I get a pod or two of almost wholly burgundy bean with some caramel spotting- and both colorations can be from pods on the same plant! So it isn't one sport plant throwing odd color, it's the same plants sometimes putting out the "right" color beans, and occasionally putting out these "sport" colored pods. What's up with that?

I've been growing drying beans for several years now, but tigers eye has been the first to make me raise so many questions.
