if it were a million dollar house built to my standards, there would be nice bedrooms, I am thinking for that amount there should be more than 3. I would like it well built with no chinese wallboard or other scarey materials. i would like it to be very energy efficient with solar and possibly wind, but I want my windows to open. i would like a front parlor or nice size foyer that can be closed off. If it is more than one story, I want the stairs not to arrive at the front door. In the kitchen, I like a goof proof counter, nothing i have to constantly maintain with waxes etc. i think you should leave a few thousand off for appliance options. Some people want big show but never cook. i want a hard working kitchen, with a water tap so i can give my pets water without having to bend down all the time. (oxygen stress and arthritis) I also probably want 2 sinks which many don't. I want at least 1 large window which i can see out while cooking or working at the sink or chopping. i want the back splash in the kitchen to be unique not subway or lowe's etc. nice touches like a tile mosaic would be good, even better, leave blank with a few options. Bathrooms - i don't care about most, probably more 1/2s then main. Probably a guest bath, which should be simple but elegant, don't want people moving in just to use the bath room. My husband and I would truly enjoy a big master bath. with a deep soaking tub. Many look deep, but the overspill is so low, so they really are not deep. A good size shower with multiple heads and room for a bench. an outdoor bathing area. A towel heater and heated floors. i guess most would want 2 sinks, but i just see more to clean, but would deal with it. definitely plenty of logical closet space. A good size walk in for the bathrooms not in them just near them, you could store sheets and stuff in there. Good size walkins - 2 in master, 1 other room should have a smaller one. A mud room. 1 or2 unexpected details I have not thought of. But be careful not to make those funny carve outs and windows or super size ones that noone can afford to cover or figure out how to cover. I want at least one large screened porch. Strictly for me, I would like the house to surround me so I have a courtyard that noone can see in. No wall to wall carpets. beautiful landscaping that wont be too big tomorrow. and lastly I want to be able to turn on hot water, have it heat quickly and not freeze my husband out of the shower. I own the only house I have ever lived in where the water works right. So I know it can be done, yet through at least 15 homes, noone else has ever accomplished it. of course none of this applies if you live a really costly place. Oh well, that was a load, if I hit the lotto, I will call you since you already know what I like. lol
