Any experience with Ariel or Strasser Simplicity vanities?

I'm remodeling our bathroom and looking at three possibilities for a 42" vanity:

  • Ariel Kelly in white oak
  • Strasser Montlake in natural oak (expensive -- is it worth it?)
  • Strasser Simplicity in natural alder

Has anyone had experience with vanities in these three brands?

We have honey oak floors in most of the house (a 1920s craftsman bungalow) but tile in the bathroom.

If you are choosing between those three for a 42-inch bath, I would separate the decision into cabinet construction, wood tone match, and serviceability rather than brand reputation alone.

Strasser Montlake usually gets attention for the oak look and overall build, but whether it is worth the premium depends on details you can confirm in person: drawer box material, joinery, finish consistency on corners, back-panel rigidity, and whether the doors stay aligned after repeated opening and closing. Ariel can be a practical value option if the finish is even and the hardware feels solid, but I would inspect the drawer glide quality and interior moisture protection carefully. For the Scarsdale style, I would focus less on the label and more on whether the natural oak tone works with your existing honey oak floors without looking too pink or too gray.

I work with a lighting and metal hardware manufacturer, so I look at this from a production and QC perspective. In a bathroom, the details that matter most after the first week are finish durability around edges, drawer-front alignment, and whether replacement hardware or touch-up parts are realistically available later.

If you can, ask each seller for a close photo of the interior, the back construction, and a side view of the drawer box. That usually tells you more than the front beauty shot.

I have done Ikea bathroom cabinets, top of the line expensive bathroom cabinets and custom honestly not much difference in how long they last . I like all drawers in a bathroom vanity so my choice starts with that always. Get one that has a decent warranty and works well in your space .I think choice of wood is not going to be an issue since you do not have wood floor in the bathroom. I do not see any advantage to solid wood in a barthroom cabinet and the the HD simplicity has IMO useless drawer layout and not attractive, A;; of these are sold by HD so check reviews .

We installed Strasser Alki vanities in two bathroom remodels in 2015 along with a linen cabinet, slab doors in Silver Oak finish. They have held up beautifully. Soft close doors and drawers. Not inexpensive but we have been very pleased. My husband did just replace one of the soft-close hinges on the master bath vanty door (the one I open and close most often!) but Strasser was extremely helpful in assisting him with the correct hinge size, etc., and he replaced it in about two minutes! I would have no problem recommending them. We saw the brand initially at Frank Webb showroom and loved the look.
