help with garlic?

i usually harvest garlic right about now, but i just dug some and the cloves are not very distinct with little paper separating them. what do you think caused it and should i wait longer to harvest the rest? we just had a very heavy rain, but other than that it's been abnormally dry here this year. thanks.

Pls post a photo.

If half of the leaves are yellow, then it is time to harvest, do not wait any longer. It has nothing to do with the size and condition of the heads. Weather and growing condition make a big difference of the heads.

As the bulbs cure, you get a much better look at what's inside. It's getting pretty late, most people have already pulled theirs crops.
