Try something in a golden tone. Look at Dunn Edwards "Crossroads" LRV 62. I just finished a project using that color and it brought alot of warmth into the space. It also works great with RED!

Find large piece of art work and remove all things from walls and hang artwork on wall. Should be 2/3 size of wall area. Home Goods, TJMaxx, etc are good places to start. Art bottom edge should be with in five inches of top of sofa. Love the paint color suggestion too. Brighten the room. Paint and art then go to next phase.

Get rid of the black pillows and lampshade. Bring all the pictures into a tighter group at eye level.

The sofa is red and black, that is enough. Take off all the black accent pillows.

Hang this on wall to right of sofa

Add light before color.

Remove the black throw pillows and replace them with patterned pillows. Reconfigure all the frames onto one wall, in a tight grouping. If possible, paint the walls a more golden-beige color to coordinate with the carpet.
