Hide A Hose (Rapid Flex) Help

We are building a new lake home, yippee. Last week the HVAC guys finished their work.

Our local HAH dealer did a walk through with us and together we identified inlet locations. I told him that I assume we would want the new rapid flex (blue) hose. He bursts my HAH bubble and tells me that he would not use rapid flex, he would recommend the traditional (grey) hose. He feels that the grey hose is softer on the woodwork and does not have an industrial look or feel to it. We do plan on having lots of big woodwork. Should I be concerned? Those of you with the rapid flex are you satisfied with it's performance?

I've had both and much prefer the rapid flex hose. The rapid flex hose seems to have more suction for some reason. I've had it over a year now with no damage to my woodwork (which concerned me as well not having a sock)...definitely go with the rapid flex. While not pretty, it does work better with the Turbocat than the grey sock covered hose.

No issues with us and our stained woodwork with the Rapid Flex and we have some large wrapped columns. We love our HAH.

ocscott and abbysteiner, Thank you both for your valuable feedback and HAH Rapid Flex experience. DH will have lots of his custom woodwork (made by him) and I sure don't want to damage it.
