Please lower the art work to center at 5’ And I like the idea of roman shades also. Choose that fabric and then use colors from it for pillows and accessories or you could go plain for the shades and get an awesome area rug to put on top of the boring beige carpet and then use it for colors also if you can I would get a larger piece of art for above the sofa and hang those 2 somewhere on a smaller wall.

Lucky you, there's nothing you have to do because you have blinds. Anyway, you might not have room to add curtains because you don't have much room to stack them on the right and you wouldn't want to stack them next to the door.

For now focus on the rest of the room.

A single larger picture would look better than the two small ones that sort of look lost on that big wall. Hang it low--5 inches over sofa.

You need lamps for the end tables.

It's my pleasure, Meagan. I'm glad you like the idea. I agree that larger -- and lower -- art over the sofa would be good; perhaps you could hang the two smaller pictures on the adjoining wall vertically to the right of the sofa -- or on the adjoining wall to the right of the window.

I to think roman shades will work for you. Lower the artwork so the bottom frames are 5" above the sofa back and leave one hand's width between them.

There seems to be a lot of window space, meaning heating and cooling issues because of the large surface area.

As it's a rental, I wouldn't put a lot of $$ into drapery. I wouldn't even do the door, just the window later on. Concentrate on all the other decorating aspects of the room first, window dressing last. Good luck in your new place.

I agree with Angel18432. Work on the windows last. If you're open to suggestions for the rest of the room, I would add color and lower the pictures above your sofa. Ex:

I like Rina's roman shades a lot. Another idea would be a stationary roman shade (actually a valance made to look like a roman shade) on the door and a pair of drapery panels flanking the window. There's not a lot of space by the wall, but you could use end caps (no finials) or even just a rod on that wall side so the curtain could go right up to it. Panels with grommet headers will give you the most flexibility. This would really polish up that area nicely.
