I can't seem to find my before photos but we had white cabinets and golden oak hardwood floor before. The doors and trims were in the same golden oak. We also had way less cabinetry before. Where the new refrigerator is is where the cabinet previously ended. There was a door to the other room which is used as a piano room. The girls just kept slamming that door. We decided that that door was not necessary.....so pulled the cabinets all the way to the hallway. Much more storage space now!

Bpathome, sharp eyes. Yes indeed that is a spice pullout. I use it for my oils and sauces. I removed two shelves as I found it narrow and difficult to get into.

Lovely kitchen. Going two-tone really worked out in your case, as the white/creamy island brightens up the room so much and makes the space seem so much larger. Nice!

We've got our toaster permanently plugged in a drawer as well. It just happens to be in the dining room sideboard drawer as we eat all our meals (including breakfast) in the dining room. We don't ever see a need to lug out the toaster onto the counter though, we just leave the drawer open during toasting - very practical. Btw. we do the same thing in the bathroom with our hair dryer and electric toothbrush holders - eliminates all those dangling electric wires and no more plugging in/out.

Yes bpathome. They both sat on a cart as MIL refused to put them away. In order to keep the peace around the house, I pretty much closed my eyes and ears. This time around I made sure I worked through everyone's issues.

We are still getting used to the kitchen. We moved back on July 3rd and have been busy unpacking!

Omelet, the pendants are from Kendal Lighting. RG58SR 5"x5.5" Sunfire Red Glass with the HPF760SN holder. We chose it for the pop of Colour not so certain of the quality though. We purchased 4. One came with a defective glass piece...it was somehow wonky. Then one gave 1 week into service. We have a replacement awaiting the contractor to install.

And here is my sink.....my very expensive sink ....sigh. Everyone says I overspent on this. The previous sink was a double integrated sink. They were 17" wide each. I found that I use the right bowl more often. I have used a large single bowl before and did not like it.

So this time around, I knew that I wanted stainless steel double sink, a minimum 18" wide bowl on the right side. All the ones I could find had the large bowl on the left. It was so frustrating searching for the right sink. I am happy with what we have but the price tag still hurts.

The kitchen in our new build is almost finished and is Very similar to yours in color. Stained cabinets with a cream colored island. SO glad to see someone else using colored pendants!!!! I think it adds some pizzaz. My glass pendants are cobalt blue in a bell shape.

Beautiful! If that sink makes you happy, it's money well spent. You will use it every day and smile. I was all set to get a Silgranite sink that I thought was bordering on too much, then the day before I ordered I changed to the sink that caught my eye at the very start of my planning, which was double the amount I had thought almost too much. But I'm so happy with that darn sink! And I don't have to pine away for the sink that got away.
