Looking for Ideas for Den

I am looking for furniture arrangement for this small den. Plan and pictures included. This is my inspiration room:

There is only 1 solid wall 8', 1 wall 14' with an 8' French slider, 1 wall open to kitchen and last wall open to DR. Dimensions are 14' x 11' but can only use 8' width due to needing walkway to other rooms.

Blue recliners (even though not my taste) and 40" wide TV stay. Rug shown is 6' x 9' but I feel it is too small but not many options in 7' x 10'. Wall color is BM Northern Cliffs but is very gray. DR is BM Abyss, kitchen is BM opaline which is cabinet color

r as there is very little wall space there either.

I don't shop online for furniture I'm a must see kind of shopper so overstock and wayfair are not for me. I like brick & mortar stores.

Start with the new area rug as they are harder to find. Go to a fine rug shop & pick several & have them deliver them to your home. This is the best way to choose a rug for a space. If they are a good rug vendor they will be more than happy to assist you with your choice. But don't let them sway you into one which is the most costly if you do not like it.

Then after that is done, go for drapes. Hopefully you have an Ikea in your area as theirs are less expensive & they sell by the pair not by the panel as most stores do. Go with grommet top or clip top so they are easier to open & close on the slider. You need a wider media center for the TV. Look at Ikea for that as well

One apartment sofa or two at right angles. Use 4 ottomans as a 'coffee table' which can add impromptu seating or allow feat up comfort. The TV stand I am sharing is an IKEA bookcase on its side with feet screwed in.

Yes, an ottoman. The media center can go on the slider wall in front of the drapes If things fit with it that way.

sandraclark: Yes, there are 3 recliners in the room only while doing the work. Leather one is definitely going. Yes, I did that with LR had some delivered until found the one I liked. Was wondering about the size? The 6x9 looks too small maybe have a 7x10 made? Had DR's rug made to size. Love the reunion console, will look at that one. As far as the drapery goes would you hang panels on both sides and pull toward center to close or hang all on left side? Yes IKEA is nearby will look there. Thanks for the help

I have French doors that face a southern exposure. I put a wooden dowel over the top. You can put drapes on wooden rings. I picked a faux linen drape from Country Curtains. They resist turning yellow from sun and can be tossed in the washer/dryer, which I will do in the fall when I put them away until next summer. I don't need privacy as much as harsh sun! Place them on either side. If you extend the dowel/rods past the opening then much of the drape can hang on the wall instead of blocking door.
