I just installed an Orbit Rain Sensor on my Orbit Control Star timer with pump start relay. It has been raining like crazy while I am trying to do this install. I don't think it is wired up right, it's the weekend and can't call anybody. Hopefully someone can help.

My timer has two yellow connection ports for the sensor, but according to the sensor instructions i don't think I am suppose to use them. I have two white common wires (one from relay and other from valves) that go into two white common ports on timer. Per what I thought I was reading, I twisted the two white wires and one side of the sensor wire together, then ran other side of sensor wire the the timers white common port. Does this sound correct? If so how do I check it? My timer says nothing about the sensor in the view window.
