Transition from flooring (plank) to hearth tiles

I got some Shaw Floorte (Latte color) and I'm trying to figure out what to buy to transition to the hearth tiles (just thick tiles). Do I need to order matching transition strips, if they have them, or are there other options? I didn't really like the transition strips my last floor had. By the way, the floor installs like laminate. It isn't the thin glue-down vinyl.

It is possible my hearth tiles may be pretty thick. I haven't picked them yet.

What you need will be determined by 1) the height difference between the Shaw floor and the hearth tile and 2) how you want it to look. So what exactly is the height difference. If you're installing a floating floor, the hearth trim will probably have to attach to the subfloor and lap over the Shaw floor.

Ah, I think that's probably what I'd like. Have relatively fat hearth stones and have it overlap the flooring. I haven't picked out the hearth tiles/stones yet, but that actually helps me figure out what I want! Thanks!

The subfloor is just my foundation slab.

We are installing cement board to support tile for our wood stove. The flooring around the tile hearth is going to be plank vinyl. What did you do to transition between the 2 materials? The hearth is going to be higher than the floor by 1/2 - 1 inch. Thanks for any suggestions.
