This weekend I started working on the big task of lining and lengthening my new curtains for my family room. My previous set was already lined, so I didn't have to worry about it.

Being energy conscious, I bought blackout material for the lining. I hung one up next to an unlined one, and I really don't know if I'm sold on it.

I know that it doesn't look so great having the window "showing through", but the room darkening ones are just so... well, dark.

Any thoughts? Does it look really cheap to have them unlined? Comparison pictures below show a window with one panel lined next to an unlined one. Another picture shows two unlined panels.

I do have a roman shade and sheer curtains behind the heavier curtains already.
