Last I heard, some big name freebie online magazine for coupon clippers and bargain hunters listed them for free seeds and the poor woman who runs the site was overwhelmed with requests by everyone that heard "free", most of which likely weren't serious enough gardeners. She went off line and it was a bad experience, but vowed to continue at the time. I'm sure she is persevering, at a minor fee to ferret out this sort of thing, but after what happened I would guess that she is rethinking the free-seeds scheme that was so generous.She insisted on filling all request up to a certain time out of the goodness of her heart, so the aftermath was not pretty I'm sure.

It really is a shame that the magazine abused her kindness like it did and put the screws on all of us. As far as legit - it doesn't get better than this. If you have extra seeds to send her, I'm sure it will both make her smile and they will find homes, unless her site says something to the contrary,

edit, btw, the woman I referred to above who does all that is a member of GW here and her name is Trudi ( trudi_d ) and you could message her

PS Trudi will continue to offer seeds, but will charge a nominal fee and is getting set up on Paypal, I believe.
