Yes, I would definitely call that feminine! Since it will be your husbands office, does he have any thoughts on wall color? Most men like blue or green.

My husband is the last person to have preference....but I would say he would lean towards blues.

Well, you might pick up a few paint samples and paint a few spots after you've removed the wallpaper. Look at them during different times of the day to get the full effect of the color. Blue, gray and white are very nice together and not overly feminine.

do you think the grasscloth walllpaper is too feminine as well? Just curious. I know my husband likes art, and I like the way the paitnings look against the grasscloth in beige/gold

Oh, no, I don't think grasscloth is too feminine at all! I think it's a great look, and if you both love it you should do it!

Blue is my favorite color and I'm female, but I have to say that I love the grasscloth and think that it looks better than I ever would have imagined with the white trim work. I actually think it makes the white become more masculine. You can always bring in the blues and greens with the art (as in your inspiration photo) and other accessories. I also think that the grasscloth gives nice flow into the rooms that are adjoining the office.

Forgot to add, I would consider changing the drawer, door, etc. hardware, possibly to a bronze or satin nickel; something a little more updated than the brass - whichever works better with other components of the room.

Thank you casacomoda! I'm fortunate to have a father who is an expert wallpaper-er! I think between he and I we can get this room completed in one morning. I have found some great original oil paintings at an antique store, plus my son's artwork and other paintings we already own, I think we can really add the blue touches to the room.
