Have you considered glass mosaic tile to reflect light based on your mention that its a small space?

I am looking at 2 samples and it looks like I may go with one of them. Thank you for your comment.

I agree a glass tile would look nice. My one bit of advice to you is to make sure the colors in the tile have the same undertone as your countertop. For example, if there's white in your granite [I don't know as I'm not familiar with it], make sure any white in your tile matches it. Whites/creams tend to have either a yellow or pink undertone, and if you mix them, you end up with something that just doesn't quite work, and you have no idea why. Same with other colors. Greens have either a yellow or blue undertone, reds have either a blue or yellow undertone, etc., etc.

I like to lay the tile on top of the granite sample in front of a large window where I can get lots of natural light so I can see the undertones. You want them to look good together. They don't have to match perfectly, but so long as your undertone is the same, it should look good.

Wait to pick you exact paint color until you have your backsplash in.
