Mine have never gone dormant in the summer. My summer temps might hit 100 for one or two days but 90 to 95 is not uncommon. I would guess that the leaves are changing from stress. A friend of my was setting up a small water garden and someone sold him a plant they called water orchids. They turned out to be Bletilla, which I thought was odd because I wouldn't expect them to grow in that type of environment.

Mine look a bit ragged by fall, but never go dormant till then.

Well, they've gone completely brown above ground now, so I don't know if they'll re-grow or are dead :(

I'd be afraid they had too much water...but you can wait and see.

I bought my new ones as a double growth in Dec (from a FL online nursery), kept it in the house till spring. I was treated with three spikes of lovely blooms. I planted out in May, and I have at least ten growths...the most recent as recent as last month. I've never had growth like this...I hope they survive the winter.
