This is one plant that definitely has a good side and a bad side lol.

It is outside in my mini greenhouse, maybe that has something to do with it. Oh, that is not over a week growth, it is over the spring and summer growth!

It's just the way it grew. As the pups fill in, it'll cover the back up lol.

Looks great! I also like the frame you built with the hardware cloth. It makes an excellent bench for growing plants.

Someone should make me a salad bench. I'd probably use it for the aloe that's coming out of my ears lol.

Very nice Fred! I can see why it is one of your favorites!! What cultivar is this?? It looks like it has the sharp colors and contrast of 'Jade Dwarf Marginated' on a future size plant. Cool! I also grow 'Midnight Shine' which is Futura size but with just a thin yellow margin. Also beautiful although mine is not in the best shape (read not photoworthy) at the moment lol.

My poorly grown 'Midnight shine'! Variegation is more subtle on this clone but the dark centers nicely edged are awesome.

I remember you giving me one now. So that's where it came from. This one got away from my catalog spreadsheet.

That's a nice looking plant, woodnative. You have lots of nice plants...wwhat do you an not photo worthy? Did you forget it in a closet for three years or something? (That actually kind of happened to my monstera, but she's coming back.)

Oooh! I love Monsteras too! I grow the white variegated one............

The yellow banding is somewhat washed out in the photo here. It is a nice Golden yellow.

Yeah, that's a good clone you have there Chris. Nice distribution of variegation other than the half-and-half leaf. Mine are so unstable, out of a dozen or so there's only a couple that have well distributed variegation. The half-leaf variegation is common, as well as trying to go 'all green'. I have one with yellow variegation but the yellow against green contrast isn't as striking as the white one.

Russ you sent me that yellow one years ago. At least here that always "burned" for me although you would think it would be stronger than the white variegated but it doesn't seem to be......at least growing here up north as a house plant.

Fred I missed that post before. It might be(?) but I doubt it as I think 'Midnight Shine' usualy only has a very narrow edge. The edge is more yellow too. I guess that could describe your plant but it still doesn't look quite like 'Midnight Shine' but very nice!

Russ, have you seen my theory behind half-green variegation and variegated leaves in general that like to revert. There's got a be something we can do to communicate to the plant that it should only grow the nicer variegated leaves that are pleasing to our eye. "Botany of Desire" I should probably get the book. I wonder if it's free online?

Woodnative some of the leaves have only the very edging in yellow. I do see what you are pointing out about the yellow stripe. The flash also made the plant lighter green than it is.

The edges of the leaves are very sharp papery bark like dry and hard too.

Fred maybe it is indeed esp if centers are darker. Maybe so. Those dark centers are awesome. Laticauda plants with unstable variegation need to be understood and maintained. My original monstera had only a small blob of white every 3rd leaf or so but I coaxed it into good variegation over a couple years.

I had forgotten that I'd sent you the yellow-variegated one, Chris. Yes, odd that it's a weaker clone, it is for me here too.
