how to properly place a coffee table

I have two sofas, each 86" long and arranged in an "L" shape in my family room, with a round end table between the two. I would like to put a square coffee table in front of them, but if I center the table in front of one sofa, it is too far away from the other sofa. What is the best way to place the table? If I position it equidistant from the front of each sofa (the recommended 14"), all the furniture seems squished to one corner of the arrangement. Advice?
