Best NOT to cut the branches -- just use scissors to cut the "bags" off the stems.

what in the world would cause you to cut off branches.. with a bug that eats leaves?

never had a bagworm on my GGs in 16 years...

i would wonder if in fact they were ggs... but now that you cut them up.. who knows...

Thanks, guys. I obviously over reacted. Never saw bagworms before, and felt I had to do something then and there... Lesson learned.

Just remember if you missed or left one and it was a fertilized female that is next years crop of bag worms. They usually hatch out first week in July give or take depending upon your location. Hopefully you destroyed them all as you removed the branches.
