tiny toilet

Hello. I'm redoing a small "prison bathroom" as we like to call it and I am looking for a smaller toilet. I don't want to use an RV toilet and I don't want anyone to feel like they're balancing on a coke bottle, just one that maybe has a taller tank so the distance from the wall isn't as far out. The current toilet we have is 27" from the wall to the front of the bowl and my local hardware stores either don't have anything that will work, or they want to charge me an astronomical amount for a special order toilet made my Benedictine monks or something absurd.

Thanks for any feedback or links you are able to share.

Do they still make any toilets that have the tank above....like old fashioned ones? I haven't seen them, but that might work.

Sorry, I don't have a more helpful idea :)

I do like that idea and they do still make them. What few I've seen (I've not researched them very much) are VERY expensive. Thank you for the comment

Look at the Toto toilets. We did this for our daughter's tiny co op bathroom. No tank, so you save lots of space.

I found a lot of possibilities, not sure if any of them work for you?

Toto (as ellen suggested): http://www.efaucets.com/detail.asp?Product_ID=CT705EN-01&ca=gpsl&CAWELAID=491871670&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=CjwKEAjw__atBRDfqe-9voylym8SJAAOBeQ_1pr3rQ--A0mkmlntLyQt17iJsd4lTGXDvHIWzQRiVRoCTBDw_wcB

ellendi6161 - Which toto are you referring too? I've seen the various models on here and the drake line as well, so wanted to clarify what you were referring too. Thank you.

arialvetica - I hadn't thot about the tankless kind like the first link you sent, I like that. Not sure how I'd plumb that in with the water supply being on the ground but maybe there is a workaround? Thank you for the great reply and links, VERY helpful!
