Brand new user - I have no idea WHERE to put that info, nor did I have any idea it was sort of the expected thing. This is helpful to learn. I tried to change my profile name to include it, but the system seems to negate that.

Go to Your Houzz in the upper right corner.

Select Edit Profite.

Go to Advanced Settings (under Account).

Scroll down almost to the bottom to Climate Zone for Garden Forums.

There is a Find your zone aid to the right of that box if you're not sure.

Thank you, moliep. That's incredibly useful and exactly what I needed. I had glanced at Advanced setting but it mainly seemed to be technical info and so I didn't scroll down enough.

Many of us agree, Kate,that it is not easy for new posters to know what is helpful information to provide.

The other forums are very intersting and also have a very high level of knowledge and experience. I am thinking of conifers, trees, perennials and hosta forums in particular.
