We are redoing the awful ceramic floor in our kitchen. The kitchen has white cabinets, counters and appliances. The rest of the main floor is done in honey oak, 2.25" plank hardwood and the stairs and railings are in the same wood. I love the thought of having the same flooring throughout as the kitchen floor meets the existing wood.
First, would the honey oak work or will it be too dated? Second, hardwood in the kitchen - a busy kitchen??

I'm obsessing over this decision and its keeping me awake at night. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
