opened fruit too early

Hello, I harvested a mature squash and from my light reading, I harvested the seeds too early. I picked the squash and immediately took out the seeds. I thought that was how we did it when I was a kid. Oh well. Are they savable or do I need to grow another mature squash for the seeds? Thanks!

Try a sprout test to find out... Take a few seeds, put them in a wet paper towel and put the towel in something to help keep it moist. Ziplock baggie, two plates, a covered container of some sort. Every day, check your paper towel to see if any sprout or not.

I will try that thanks! I grew another large squash so I have a backup :)
