Too Late for Kabocha Plant to Set Pumpkins?

Since I had some extra garden room and wanted to try various kabocha, I planted several kabocha plants. They have just started to send out runners and the male flowers in the middle have opened. I just wonder if those plants can still produce before the cold weather comes.

With my early kabocha, the first batch is about time to harvest. They have started to bear the 2nd and 3rd pumpkins on the vines.

The plants are setting squash, about 2" now. I have almost two months to go. I think that is enough to get a decent squash.

I'm cutting the early kabochas. Now they are setting the 2nd and 3rd squash...

It's reaching the point where it becomes iffy but it's definitely worth a shot since they've already gotten started.

Fruit set won't be a problem, you're just in a race to mature them before first frost.

Yes. Last year I had a similar situation. I pulled the vines due to the SVB. So the squash was about 4" to 5" large. This year, I do not see SVB is a problem now. I planted them just to cover my bare ground....
