There is a technique that is used to force branching on trees which I think might work on Plumeria. Basically, a little wedge shaped cut is made above a dormant bud. Apparently this little wedge shaped cut blocks hormones from the leaves above which prevent dormant buds from awakening. This in turn allows the dormant bud to awaken and grow.

I am thinking about trying this to force some branching on Plumeria. Has anyone ever tried it?
