You're gang rooting them or you meant rooting individually in 1 gallons?

Discarded 16 oz water or drink bottles are great to use for rooting. So are clear drink cups, sandwich baggies or baby bottle liners.

Are you able to purchase a heat mat? They are wonderful for winter rooting.

Don't forget to callous first. :)

My plan is to individually place each cutting in it's own pot. Is a 16oz (0.5L) big enough for the large cuttings? I will use stones on top of the soil to stabilize the cuttings. I know I am silly for wanting to see the whole root system work.

Have patience with both the Singapore type cuttings--they are sometimes very tough to root, especially this time of year. Kimi might be hard, too.

The most important things I've discovered is an inert medium like perlite or coir to prevent rot, and leaving those cuttings alone. Really, don't move them or pull on them or check them every day. Just leave them alone, maybe squeezing the trunk occasionally if you don't see roots after a couple months, just to check the trunk health.
