I agree that adding cabinets on either side of the hood would give you a good stopping point. Behind the hood I would have the tile up to the ceiling and also to the ceiling around the window.

We will have all white cabinets and have Venetian Gold counter tops and brown and tan floors. I kinda like the look of grey grout, but do y'all think that would clash with the countertops? I feel like a contrast in grout will help break up the cabinets but am not sure.

Wait to buy the grout until the tiles are in. Then you can decide. For right now, I think the gray will clash.

Any suggestions for a light fixture in the center? There are can lights and a space for one "fixture" above the prep table.

About to add backsplash and finishing painting drawer fronts! Will wait to pick grout color until after install but I'm really leaning toward the lightest grey with a thin line just to give it some texture. It's a really bright, white kitchen, which I love, but it's so hard to decide if white grout with white tile will just blow it all out. Any thoughts?

Are the bottom cabinets gray? Light gray grout might be good. Post a pic when the tiles go in.

Clean and classic I would stay with the white grout. I have white cabinets and white subway tiles,too. Your floor and countertops will be warm tones and the gray is cool. I am afraid they would clash.

The tile is up and I just love it. Have to finish painting those drawers and then get the new hardware. Still think white grout? The shadow right now seems to give a hint at what a really light grey would look like...I guess I'm just holding out hope that y'all will say light grey grout looks good-haha!

Great opportunity for a real stunner by taking tile to the ceiling both behind the vent and at the sink window.

It looks like you have already done the window wall and it looks beautiful. I'm not sure if you have done the vent wall yet, but my suggestion would be to leave out the side cabinets and do subway tile to that entire wall (including around the doorway). You have an opportunity to really make this the feature of your kitchen.

Yes we've already done the window wall but could use advice on grout color. We plan to do the range/hood side next. Should be do that entire wall (above the doorway) or just go straight up the left side of the door way?

I would cover the entire wall and above the doorway. Its white so it won't be a shocker and will counter balance the tile on the window wall. No suggestion about grout except to try and replicate the general tone of the countertop with it.

Hi Emily, I would do the entire wall including above the doorway and go with a white grout (one that's just a shade creamier than the white tile).

It's been finished for a while but I forgot to post! Still need to add the crown around the vent and cabinets. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

Oh and we did above the doorway too just needs the trim.
