New Kitchen Colors for Cabinets and Walls

Wood paneling galore! Our 1950s home is covered in wood paneling. We want to keep the cabinets, backsplash, and counters and are only looking to paint the cabinets and walls for now. In the future, maybe somethings more. For now, we need help with colors. We also want something cool for the double doors that lead to washer/dryer and pantry. Maybe a stencil with a saying on it?? I don't want white (had it in my last house) for cabinets or gray/blue color. Also wondering about the headers above the cabinets and if they should be the wall color or cabinet color.

Any ideas are welcome!!! Pictures or paint color names would be helpful too!

My personal pick is BM hale navy...but here is an idea for yellow as well

How about adding some trim to the double doors and making it useful for messages by adding chalkboard paint to the top halves of the doors with a ledge to hold the chalk

I defiantly would paint the cabinets all the way to the ceiling it will make the room look bigger by not cutting the cabinets off with color making the eye jump around

You also need to add some lighting to make the space look bigger,and if you are not changing the floor try some rugs that will lighten the floor up

Agree with painting cupboards to the ceiling & better lighting. You could do barn doors on the laundry cupboard. You could go with light blue or bright light green on the cupboards and white walls. Make it bright.

Whatever you go with, make sure the color works with your tile. Green would work with your tile as would blue or gray, but be careful of tans and bieges as you'd need to carefully match them or they'd clash.

You could go with a darker color for your cabinets and a shade or two lighter for the rest of the room.

I know you said you didn't want blue ,but navy is worth looking at if you can update lighting

I think a nice, rich off white or antique white would go well with your floors and counter top. That and the beige tones of your floor open you up to any choice of colors you like for your walls. What do you have in the rest of your house for colors? If you paint the soffit the same color as the cabinets, it will make your cabinets appear taller. I'd consider painting the pantry doors and trim around them the same color as the walls. Good luck with your project!
