hate the footprints in my carpet

I just had 800 sq feet of of carpet put in my entire upstairs, huge open den a hallway, and Monday another 1500 goes in four bedrooms. I was horrified the first time I saw the new carpet - at the footprints!!!! Its like you can see each and every footstep. I've NEVER seen carpet like this before, even when I tried with the vacuum I couldn't get it to look normal. It is soft, and the color is great, a light modeled beige, but its not as plush and long as I thought it was going to be. I'm sooo disappointed and mad at myself. Should I have the new carpet installed? I've already bought it....

We had this type of carpet in our last house. It drove me absolutely crazy. I could even see dog and cat footprints---I had to vacuum it quite often, but it was sort of pointless because there would be footprints in it almost immediately afterwards. I don't know what to tell you other than I never got used to it in the 4 years we lived there. However, I don't think anyone other than my husband and I noticed the footprints.

Many vendors offer some form of a satisfaction guarantee (Beautiful Guarantee, Confidence etc...) that will replace your carpet - material and labor - at no cost to you - if you don't like your carpet for any reason (including footprints). It may be worth an inquiry to the vendor you purchased the carpet from.

actrobaugh, was wondering if you ever replaced your carpets? We just had the same situation and I hate the carpet! Have a call into the salesperson but was wondering what your resolution was?
