Curious, does anyone feel strongly in favor of one option vs. the other? Or do you think it will look okay either way?

yes i prefer knobs on doors and pulls on drawers as well. since the doors on the bottom are lower (drawer is above them) they dont catch on my pockets. watch out for pulls that stick out on the ends, those spin me around every time....

Thank you both. My husband loves the idea of pulls throughout the entire kitchen (option 1). I have seen a few contemporary kitchens like this on Houzz, but wondered if it might be more interesting to include some knobs on the upper stacked cabinets (see option 2)...or better to just keep it all the same...? The handles we selected do not stick out on the ends, btw.
