We are new homeowners and our first reno project is to redo the garage addition roof as well as the wrap around porch roof before winter. We definitely want to do a metal roof but I am torn as to whether we should do imitation slate tiles, regular metal shingles, or the vertical panels in a 'heritage' style of standing seam roofs. I'm trying to find photo examples of other homes like ours to get a sense of what goes with this type of home. Is it Colonial? Farmhouse? It was only built in 1987 but I want it to have a traditional feel.
