I don't normally care what I have fluttering around, but I figured why not ask maybe I'll start a little picture collection of who comes to visit.

I am in Tampa Florida

It's a gulf fritillary, one of my favorite butterflies, and the zinnia is so pretty!

I'm raising about ?15 gulf frits now. Their host plant is passionvines, so there are probably some growing near you.

Gulf frits can't survive on most of the red-flowering passionvines, so it's safer to go with the blues/purples. Their favorite here (and widely used in Florida) is the native maypops/P. incarnata, and in Florida, they're known to use P. suberosa/corky-stemmed passionvine Unfortunately, P. suberosa doesn't make big showy flowers. They will also use P. 'Incense' if nothing else they like better is available.
