1920's Spanish Kitchen

Sorry, I have no photos at this point.

I'm working on remodeling the kitchen of a home we just purchased. We will keep the original light colored wood floors. I know I like wood cabinets (not white or a color). Counter tops are what's confusing me. I love ceramics tiles but grout and me don't be along. I'm tired of granite (what I've had for 10 years). I defiantly need something practical but don't know what that will go with the period and not clash.

Any suggestions would be so appreciated!

Love the idea of soapstone with your kitchen. If you have an island, I would do that in butcher block.

I think soapstone, stainless steel and concrete would all be worth considering. Here is a photo of a Spanish kitchen with what may be stainless steel or concrete. I can't tell from the photo and the material isn't identified.

nimrod25 Thank you for taking the time to post the photos. The house is authentic and although these photos are Spanish style it seems so contemporary. I think I probably need to wait to get some photos so I can re - post it more efficiently. Thank you!

Thank you nmh92, I love that look and think I could use Mexican tiles or Moroccan very easily. I need to do research on soapstone and pricing.
