I am just going to ask you to consider your age, hips, knees, ankles. Follow me? I lived in a rental many years ago. The house was built on a slab of concrete - no basement, no give whatsoever to the floors. And though I was young, standing in one place for a while - as you often do in a kitchen - just killed my back. That would be my only concern.

Wow. I'm only 32 and I can't shop in BJs on their concrete floor for long. Feet and lower back ache for days.
