Thanks, Tiffany. Googled it and it seems to be Datura inoxia. Seed contaminant.

Happy to share a suggestion. The leaves on yours look more like D. stramonium to me. (And after 2 hours, a wrong suggestion usually has objections.) But for either species, agree, likely not included intentionally, or at all, with your wild seed mix. They just show up sometimes.

Be aware that datura is poisonous, especially the flowers and seeds.

Get rid of it before the seed pods open. It took me years and years to get rid of most of it, but it still comes back in a few places. Then my DH bought some topsoil that had it in it, and the process begins again. aka Jimson weed.

Not sure why you would say that. It IS a datura and very likely D. stramonium but both D. stramonium and inoxia are commonly referred to as jimsonweed.

Any additional comments are not necessary after 2 years. Surely the mystery no longer exists.

A similar comment was made by the same poster on another thread ID'ing what was obviously jimsonweed. And was also queried as to why he disagreed with that ID but no response. A hit and run false ID!!

LOL, I just scratch my head sometimes when people people pull old threads out of the compost heap to dispute things like common names omg.

There's something wrong with the programming of this site. Not sure what it is but it happens a lot.
