It's a Schefflera. I think it's the bigger one, S. actinophylla. For a potted indoor specimen, I think it looks great! The angle of the dangle of the older leaves looks normal to me.

Thank you for the reply! I wouldn't have figured it was a Schefflera! Although now that you mention it, the leafs do resemble it. When I first purchased the plant all the groups of foliage were erect and it just looked healthier, unlike how it is now. However, as long as it lives on, I'm okay with it being just how it is. :) Thank you for your time!

I would rethink that soil, it looks wet and heavy to me. On the first link you will find lots of info on soil mixes.

I didn't know what type of plant it was, so I ended up using what I had on hand, which is indeed a heavier cactus potting mix. Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it!

Just make sure the plant drains well and does not sit in water. They like moisture but also like to dry out.
