A co-worker's dewalt was kind of like this; the shoe was so unsquare to the blade (from being dropped many times) you could never use it with a straightedge guide (or speed square for that matter).

It's really hard to unbend them so they come back perfectly true, but it can be done.

Mine has never been dropped as it came this way new. I can parallel it up but the measurements are off so using it as I intended would be difficult. I wish I would have used it sooner then I could have used Amazon's great return policy. Now I have to go through the manufacturer.
