Is it fragrant? Is it thorny? Do you have any idea how old your neighbor's plant is, or where it originally came from?

Photos of buds, thorns, stipules may help someone figure out what this is, or at least rule out some possibilities...

Yes I am in Hawaii ... neighbor actually has it as a short tree rose and has no clue what it was. I don't recall a fragrance. Thank you again for your help!

How big are the flowers? Your pics look like my White Cecile Brunner does in hot weather but, as Virginia says, more info would be helpful.

Nearly thornless, here's a pic of the new growth. Bud ranges from 1 inch to 2 inches. I don't remember a smell in particular, but will check next time it buds out for me. It freckles pink when its close to dying. It hasn't exploded in blooms but then again, only my yellow neglected minis explode, none of my other plants.

I checked Cecille Brunner, and I don't think mine buds out that prettily (like a hybrid tea bud form), but I'll check it.

Could you post pictures of yours? I think our temps are kind of the same. Thank you for your help!
