What color is your sofa and what color/colors do you and your husband love?

As to floors, those look like hardwood. I would refinish the hardwood.

You are in luck because brown is a neutral and will work with almost and color you want to paint your walls. I would stay with colors that appear lighter on the paint chips than you think you want on the walls. All colors look darker on a wall than on a small area. Always do a test area on a couple of walls before committing to gallons of paint. White woodwork is always a good choice.

Is your current flooring hardwood?
