Chandelier vs Ductwork

In the process of renovating a 115 yr old bldg. new plumbing, electrical, windows, roof, HVAC, and more. Exposed brick and ceiling on both floors, also, will have exposed electric, plumbing, and ductwork. Dilemma is how to run ductwork without taking away from beautiful chandelier. Chandelier will sit towards rear of building 74x24, approximately 50 ft in. Ducts are to be suspended 6" from ceiling. Option presented by HVAC installer was to run ductwork front to back as originally planned with a rod thru center of ductwork and box around duct to house electrical; option two which installer prefers is to run straight until 48ft then split off equally to both sides to provide better cooling to large window area which receives lots of afternoon sun.
