Are the seeds inside black? If no then they aren't ready.

They look ready from here, but yes- they should be black. I tend to just leave them until thy start falling out from accidental bumps.

I harvest when the majority of the spike has turned brown. I find that when it is fully brown I get far less yield, because many have already fallen our. Yours are very, if not over ready from my perspective.
