Neutral Overload?

I tend to always design with neutral colors, but I am trying to branch out and find a ottoman for this room in a bright color. I am thinking red, tangerine or even a light blue teal. I was thinking of matching one of the colors in the painting above the fireplace. Or I could just stick to the beige, taupe, walnut theme and call it a day.

I like greens and browns. Maybe you could get more colored pillows such as green and get a green ottoman, etc... I am not a big matchy matchy person.

Make sure whatever it is, that you genuinely like it. Don't bring in color just because you feel you need to. Do it because you like the item and color so you'll be happy with in down the road.

The barn red in your painting would be a perfect color to go with your neutral furniture and space.

pick a color from you painting, just not the Grey roof :-) It also helps to add the color in at least 3 places around the
room. maybe a throw and a couple pillows. or a vase or picture frame.

A third option is to draw from your undertones. A plum or eggplant shade would be lovely, and allow the focus to remain on the painting. I very much like your camel accent, and think that would be another brightening choice that would still play nicely within the palette.
