Heated tile floors

I am looking at some tile heating options. It looks like Ditra is the top dog, but I do not like the price tag. There are a lot of other alternatives too. Menards sells 'Warm Tiles' and Home Depot sells SunTouch besides the Ditra brand. I am wondering for those who install it or have a tile heating system, what product did you use and how do you get the lowest profile so the floor isn't significantly higher than carpet rooms? To me it looks like the matts that are thin or the options that do not need to be embedded in a self leveling concrete and instead just set in the tile mortar offer the lowest profile.

I have used two different systems, for remodeling my home.

Warmly Yours has mats that you cover with the thin coat of thinset. When that's dry, then apply thinset and set the tile. My Warmly Yours mats are about 8 years old, and they work fine.

For the master bath, the existing floor needed a lot of work. I used RPM mats, and warm wire. These are mats with 'knobs' (diameter of a quarter, every 3" ?). Anyway you glue / staple the mats. The Warm Wire wraps around the knobs. Then you pour self leveling cement, just to cover the knobs. Did a real nice job. Much like Ditra Heat.

In my DIY engineer opinion all the system are going to cost about the same. I don't buy anything from Menards.

I would say that for an average bathroom you need to add $600 - $800 for a heated floor - you need the mats / heating wire and a thermostat (about $120 - $160), and a dedicated circuit. I would buy a Honneywell floor heating thermostat. I didn't like the thermostat that Schluter offers.
