The above chair is very nice. You could use those but I would add something that brings out the turqouise of the wall on the window side- either in the curtains or maybe on something else decorative.

I think a gray or gray patterned rug and curtains in the same tone but a lighter shade of the blue wall would be awesome. I like both chairs. The ones with the pattern would be an awesome pop in the simple but modern room Or go with a rug with lots of pop in the pattern and stick with the white chairs.

Gray curtains would be great in this space. For an area rug, how about a gray and white chevron pattern?

Sometimes a bare window is really nice. I like the clean lines of your furniture and, unless you need privacy or light control, would suggest living with the window plain and simple for awhile before doing anything expensive. The space has a bit of a Scandinavian vibe.

I love naked windows, and in this case I'd for sure leave them that way. If you need privacy, use some kind of inside mount shade. Curtains on that window aren't going to look right because of the deep sill, and you've got that pesky baseboard heater there anyway, so leave the windows be.

I like the first and third variation.

I find the chairs too busy - prefer white ones - rather go for a rug ( Nr1 & 3 as suggested by groveraxle) and perhaps lime green cushions on the sofa to match rug Nr1.

As for the curtains I would go for broken white sheers - give warm light and keep the room looking its size and not smaller.

the bright blue wall leads all troubles :) you need another bright colour for curtains - yellow, lilac, cyclamen or strawberry...

Consider some multicolor curtains and go with a heavy textured rug if you can. Would love to see more texture in the space, but what you have so far is a really good start. Then layer in some art work as well.

I think here is suitable the last rug, curtains wite with blue (from the rug color), some picture on the wall in the light wooden frame, white with ohra decorative pillows for the sofa

Regarding window you need to decide if you need anything on the window for privacy and/or light control.

I think I would leave the windows as they are, or with some very simple white sheers. If you need privacy, I'd do shades that could be kept up as often as possible. I think you have a very nice start with your room. I would add color with a rug, pillows, artwork - all things you can start to add now that you have your basic furnishings. I would definitely purchase another chair, primarily because I think you will get tired of dragging the ones you are using back and forth, to and from the kitchen. Wayfair has some great mid-century/Scandinavian-style chairs for under $200. Rugs can be a big expense. I would add color with accessories and save for the perfect rug. It will last longer and be easier to care for so that will be a win in the long run. Good luck! It's so much fun to decorate a new home!

I like your multicolor chair and grover's rug #1. White inside mount roman shades would be good. Get some simple scandinavian style vases in turquoise, white, gray for window sill. Pop of color for flowers and art.

I want you to think about that window, It looks like strong light coming in. That light will fade your rug, furniture and floors. I would definitely put solar shades or shades that have some uv protection. Your walls are gray, so if you use gray for your window coverings, use texture or a tone on tone small print. Choose a colorful rug, several of the ones above looked great. A 5x7 so your nice floors show, and it doesn't overwhelm the room. Put the white chairs in the kitchen, and an eclectic desk chair at the desk. I think you need a comfortable chair,(it looks like a multi purpose room) a modern leather would be a good value. And Art!

Looks like the OP hasn't been around since Aug. 26, and we have no idea what she thinks of any of our suggestions. Hmmmmm. Anda, if you're still there, how about a word about what you've decided or a progress report?

If you need light filtered or blocked but want to still have as much light as possible consider top down blinds. they can be adjusted for privacy as well. can be purchased with whatever degree filter you need. I also like the Scandinavian feel you have. yes please let us know what you decided.

hi everybody! thank you for your suggestions, they were a big inspiration. I have made some decisions about the rug as you can see in the picture.. I liked the geometric print and that it is colorful..I have also found a white chair in the same style as the one from the kitchen that has arms and fabric so it is more confortable, but when I received it I found out that the fabric was a little damaged so I had to return it.. unfortunetly it was the only one left so now I have to wait a little longer
as for the shades so far I ordered white transparent ones but I am thinking about what Suzanne said that the strong light could damage the furniture so maybe I should consider some other type of shades also

I like the rug but it is so small that it is hidden by the table. Can you up-size it? Roller shades are a great option - i have a mod vibe too and they work great in my problematic windows. If you do not need light blocking to control night time exterior light infiltration, just get the standard ones from blinds.com. You cannot see thru them but allow a nice glow in the day time when closed. Maybe pillows for the couch that pick up rug colors?
