Just buy a large inexpensive throw to toss over it when using it. You just bought the chair & following instructions for the care of the leather is really all you need to do. Enjoy the great look & comfort from your new stressless chair.

I'm just surprised that there are no covers for Stressless chairs. I have large throws, and I'll try one of those, except, I imagine it will move all the time when I sit on the chair.

I have had 4 stressless chairs in my life and have never had a cover. I have one that is white that I have been using for about 6 years now. I use the stressless brand cleaner about once a year. I do have a mark from a ballpoint pen but it is small and so I have learned to live with it. My big mess maker is chocolate and I have smeared chocolate on it many times. Wipes off with damp cloth or the cleaner.

The big issue is the cat. His scratching is going to be an issue. There was a thread on Houzz a year or so ago about cats' scratching and the bottom line was no one had a sure fire cure. The nice thing about your chair is that the cat will have to balance on the seat in order to find a really satisfactory clawing spot. Maybe it won't happen. However a slip cover would be very pleasant for a cat to scratch.

Thanks to all of you who have commented. I DO love my Stressless chair. It was expensive, but worth every penny for my bad back! I'll be careful when I read the newspaper, as newsprint gets on my hands.

So what if you don't like the color and want to change it? Thats the problem I have.

I am also looking for fabric covers for my Stressless chairs. Despite my best intentions and using the cleaning kit from Stressless, my chair (light gray) has developed horrid orange stains from sunscreen. Beware! Even though I applied sunscreen in the morning and did not sit in my chair until after dinner, the orange stains suddenly developed and are impossible to remove. I have tried numerous leather cleaners to no avail. Professional commercial in-home leather cleaners advised me that the stains are permanent. My chair is ruined.

I'm sure my temporary solution might not appeal to you. Because I have a cat, I bought a wing chair quilted cover from eBay. When I have company, I remove the cover. It doesn't look the best, but it keeps my chair protected.

I just purchased two Stressless chairs and I am desperately trying to find a cover for them to keep cats off of them when we are away. So far the items I have found would all need significant alterations :( Any suggestions?

The only thing I found was a Sure Fit wing chair cover from eBay. That's what I use in my den on my Stressless chair.

Sorry but i am laughing as you are stressing out over your Stressless chair. I know these things are very expensive and anybody wondering why they are trying to cover it they have to know they are thousands of dollars.

In the end just sit on the chair and enjoy it. Why would you want to look and feel a cheap cover vs the beautiful leather you bought the chair for.

I also have Sure Fit covers on the upholstered chairs in my living room. I'm not worried about my cat scratching the chairs, but she sheds like crazy. When I have company, the covers come off. I'm mostly concerned about my upholstered chairs.

So what I’m getting here is that at least half of the people posting answers are more interested in belittling the requestor’s wishes and imposing their own views and opinions because they are “right” and the requestor is “wrong” rather than just answering the question. Wow. I guess the ego-gratification of being right is way more important. You get how that is all about you, and not the requestor, right? Well, good for you. You’re right, the requestor is wrong, and is stupid for wanting to cover their chair. Thank you to those who did actually answer the question to the best of your ability.

I made a fur cover for preventing stains. Just for the upper part. Works very good.

It’s an old post yet people are still coming here. I think when a chair costs $3000 people are naturally interested in re-covering rather than replacing the chair.

The oils in hair or hair products can affect your leather...that top part where your head rests. Once I noticed some discoloration on ours, which are the same color as yours, I used fabric I had left over from another project and made a slipcover which fits over that top area. I used a fabric which goes with the other colors in the room.

You may need to have the cat declawed, or at least trim its nails frequently, if it will be an indoor cat. I have seen the damage a cat or two can do to leather...ruined!!!!

My question is that the seat and back of my ekorne is getting flat. Is there any place to get the seats restuffed? They arr attached with velcro it seems, so is easily detachable.

Does anyone know if i can get a sheepskin to use over part of my chair and for the footstool? Would love the fluffy warm in the winter and the look. Just don't want to harm the leather.

Do not cover the leather chair with apolyester cover as it will harm the leather.

You can find "faux fur" sheepskin at fabric stores and sew or have one sewn.

Ikea usually has a sheepskin. I don't think it would be comfortable. I would just use the chair and enjoy it. We have one also, but it's black.

Thanks to the lady that posted the picture. I recently acquired an 11 week old puppy and I'd like to cover my chair and foot stool for a few months until we get past the chewing stage. I love my chair and I'd prefer not to have to replace it because I was thoughtless. Yes life happens enjoy your chair but sometimes some people want something different it's not your problem.

This place seems to offer Stressless Chair covers in a variety of fabrics and leathers, in case you want to buy just the cover -- I'd try them! (Though I'm pretty sure it's the cover part of the chair that is the major cost...)

I can not speak for all the chairs but the best protector I found and it’s very comfortable are the terry cloth lawn chair covers that come in all colors and a couple different lengths. I have one of the original chairs . . The lawn chair covers have a deep picket that Métis them on .

@Teresa - the link you provided are actual Stressless chair leather that you order for the furniture itself, not a separate cover that people are asking about. I purchased a Mayfair recliner and Buckingham sofa last year and also looking for a semi-custom fit cover for pet protection and reducing wear and tear from daily use, and take off when I have guests. I was able to find this cover from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WHJYZZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o08_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which works well for the sofa, but can't find the right size for the recliner, most of them being too big. I may have to just make one myself.

I have the Mayfair chair, and found a matching color table placemat from Walmart, which I attached at the head with upholstery pins to protect the headrest from hair products, etc. I would however like to find a seat cover to keep the seat from staining as I am often bare legged with shorts and worried about lotions, sweat, etc staining the seat. Has anyone tried a car seat cover?

I own 4 Ekornes chairs. I made a cover with beach towels.

1)Place the towel on the chair to get the feel for how you want it to look.

2)Make sure that you have about 4 inches or so hanging over the top of the chair and the same for the bottom.

3) Make the chair lay flat and adjust the towel

4)Mark( I use a sharpie or pins will work too) the towel on both the top and bottom where the flaps are going in

5) take the towel and fold it right sides together where the flaps have been marked.

6)Sew along the sides from the mark to the top of the fold . Do this 4 times 1 at each corner.

7)You will now have a cover with 2 flaps..slip the bottom flap on the bottom seat and the one on the top of the chair and you have it covered !!

If your chair is large you might need to make the flaps out of another towel or fabric. I just sewed more fabric to the top and bottom of the towel before I started and continued from #4

I have a couple hand me down Mayfair chairs in microsuede. They’re comfortable, but the fabric attracts dirt like crazy, I don’t need a part time job maintaining furniture, plus I don’t love the colors. I like the towel idea, I think I’ll make patterns from old sheets and then look for more sturdy washable fabric I can slip in and off the chairs. There appears to be a market niche here for an enterprising person, these chairs are spendy when new, covers to change them up occasionally would be nice.

My upholsterer also makes custom slip covers. You have a complete choice of fabric and they fit very well: expensive, but worth it compared to the price of the chairs.

think a throw will have to do. i also have a Natuzi white sofa and Ive had a throw on the seats for 6 years and its just fine i got a heavy duty one from orvis.

Have same chair and it dawns on me after someone said sheepskin that a car seat cover might work for this.

I have inherited two great Stressless recliners that appear to have zippers on all major pieces. I do not like the color at all. Is there any way to order zipped on covers for these great chairs?

I couldn’t find any covers, just replacement leather for recovering and upholsterer wanted around 800 to recover, so…if its light maybe dye the leather?

My long answer is based on experience. There are several issues.

1. We had a Stickley fabric sofa for 8 years. It had very heavy use as my wife watches TV on it for 8 hours a day. We used a Sure-Fit cover which protected it. However, a full cover defeats the entire purpose of buying an expensive sofa. You can’t see the fabric or the leather. Never again.

2. Your hair and skin oils will damage good leathers. We had two very nice, and pricey recliners from a company in Massachusetts. Name is Kline Design. Shipped in boxes and easy to put together. Bulletproof. For 10 years, the protected tan colored leather looked beautiful. Suddenly, my headrest became very discolored. My wife’s looked new. I ordered a new headrest and within 2 months, it was badly discolored. As I was balding, and on cholesterol medication, the oils from my head discolored the leather. After 18 years of use, we gave the 2 chairs away, and my wife’s still looked great. We gave them away because my wife (in our seventies), had trouble getting out of steep recline of the chairs.

3. Six months ago, we gave the Stickley sofa away (tastes change). We purchased a Stressless Mary loveseat in light gray, and two Rock Gray (looks black), recliners. They are delicate, not protected leather. Having learned my lesson, I now place a cover over the headrest area. I move it between the recliner and the loveseat. As the photo shows, my wife doesn’t need a headrest. She has a full head of hair. We have an elderly dog, and keep a pet mat on the seat of the sofa.

Here’s what I do with our lovely leather chairs. I have 2 gorgeous throws that I (decoratively) drape on the chairs, when not in use. In the evening when we sit in the chairs the throws become chair covers. When the chairs aren’t in use I get to enjoy the beauty of the chairs, which is a large part of the reason for my purchase, and yet protect them when sitting in them! Works for us!

I have 4 cats and was worried about them scratching it too but since it rotates - they don't like it and stay away and the same with the hassack - it shifts back and forth and they don't like that either. Don't worry about the chair - it will be fine. Ballpoint pen marks come out with a little rubbing alcohol.

I just recently got a 6 month old very large male kitten & have been using a cotton throw size 66" x 54" & used large safety pins In the back to hold it together. I then put a weighted neck wrap on the seat to stop it from sliding off. So far so good!

I too have stressless chairs (3) for years and never had an issue with staining or discoloring if you follow the cleaning you should be fine .

i now have an indoor cat and have been looking for a chair-covers as well!

i have never found any. what i have been doing is using a real good rubber back floor rug runner. i place it over the seat & hangs over the arms too. Then i place a single fitted sheet over the chair so the cat won’t claw… i remove all when company comes over. ot works perrrfect!

i use the same idea for the leather seats in the car as well!

This keeps the dogs from poking holes in leather & from sliding around too.

declawing a cat is essentially removing the first digit AND it changes their personality too!!

I don’t understand the reasoning of buying something beautiful, then covering it all up to ”protect” it. It remains pristine, but you never see it or enjoy it because you have a tacky cover on it. Someday you’ll die and someone else will get to enjoy your beautifully preserved chair!

I have a stressless recliner and ottoman passed down from a friend who bought a new one. The place where the head rests and the arms are soiled and abraded and there are some small rips in the seat that's currently covered by a sheepskin that slides around. The chair is so so comfortable but I'd like to buy a lightweight faux leather cover, or even a cloth cover. The only one I've seen offered looks flimsy and cheesy - some kind of knitted stretch material. Reading through the comments I can't believe that the manufacturer or someone else hasn't designed and doesn't offer a product for which there is clearly a market. I'm no seamstress but it looks like I may have to try and make arm covers, an antimacasser and a footrest cover unless I want the leather to further rip and degrade. :-(
